COMPANY REGISTRATION WITH THE CENTRAL FIREARMS REGISTRAR
Any company that has not been registered with the Central Firearms registrar cannot hold a valid weapons permit. This is an important step where the company will be vetted and approved to apply for permits.
WEAPONS PERMIT APPLICATIONS CENTRAL FIREARMS REGISTRAR
All weapons require valid permits to transit any South African Port- we will submit all applications and keep you updated with the progress thereof.
WEAPONS AGENT AMENDMENTS
Very often Security Companies are less than satisfied with their existing Weapons Agents having experienced substandard or failure to meet service expectations. However the process of changing agents does appear daunting. We can assist in making the change and smoothing the way for seamless transits
WEAPONS CLEARANCES (CUSTOMS)
A dedicated clearing agent has been utilized since the inception of the Armed Transit process; his vast experience ensures professional service and immediate response to Customs clearances.
SAFE SUPPLY AND FITMENT
Weapons embarked onto or remaining on board a vessel remaining in Port must be stored in terms of the conditions of the Permit and the South African Firearms Act. We are able to arrange the supply, customs clearance and fitment of the safe at reasonable rates.
LAND TRANSPORT OF WEAPONS TO AND FROM VESSELS
Weapons are transported by the Maritime Operations Transit teams in one of the 4 vehicles registered on the Transporters Permit issued to Maritime Operations cc. The vehicles have a stand outward appearance but meet all the safety requirements for safe storage of weapons. By keeping all operations in-house any delays at vessels; and security issues that often accompany numerous service providers are avoided.
ARMOURY FACILITIES
The storage facility is registered, approved by the South African Police Services is exclusively used by Maritime for the safekeeping of equipment and weapons in accordance with Customs and Police requirements. A digital copy of all equipment in the armoury is held and records of your equipment movements can be provided to you at any time on your request. Inspections by your company representative can be facilitated. The Armoury has been inspected and approved in ISO 28007 risk assessments by Lloyds of London, Lloyds Singapore and Lloyds South Korea.
GUNSMITHS, REPAIRS AND EQUIPMENT REPLENISHMENTS
Faulty weapons that require the attendance of a Gunsmith; or those simply requiring a service can be attended to. We can also assist in the procurement or replacement of Body Armour and other expendable equipment used in support of the security team.
FACILITATE TRANSITS BY AIRLINES TO END USER COUNTRIES
This is an increasing requirement by many companies and we are able to facilitate movement on any Airline that allows for weapons movement as either cargo or freight.

TRANSIT SERVICES

COMMUNICATIONS
Once appointed Maritime Operations will make confirmatory communications with the Master and Security team and constantly monitor the vessel. Any special considerations such as weather conditions, inspection times and berthing delays will be communicated to the Master directly or through the appointed shipping agent.
NOTIFICATIONS OF AUTHORITIES
Authorities for the relevant Port will be notified and provided with full supporting documents in advance of any transit, the same documentation will be forwarded to the vessel Master with clear instructions and advice on what to expect during the transit.
ATTENDANCE TO BERTHED VESSELS
A Maritime Operations team will arrange and attend to inspections on the equipment along with the Security Team, Police and Customs officials. Documentation supplied by Maritime Operations will be compared to the permit, the items and the customs clearances where after approval for movement will be made. Weapons will be transported between the relevant vessel and the exclusive Armoury by Maritime Operations.
OPL OPERATIONS
A Maritime Operations team will arrange and attend to inspections on the equipment along with the Security Team, Police and Customs officials. Documentation supplied by Maritime Operations and the OPL Operator will be compared to the permit, the items, and the customs clearances, as well as Port Clearance documents where-after approval for movement will be made. When travelling on the OPL Launch the weapons will remain in a weapons safe under the Control of the Launch Operator. Weapons will be transported between the relevant vessel and the exclusive Armoury by Maritime Operations.
TEAM ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORT
Security teams can accommodated according to clients requirements at a Bed Only, Bed and breakfast or Full Board and Lodging rate. The team will be transported by vehicle between the Airport Vessel and Hotels as required Vehicles are registered, maintained and insured with experienced well- mannered drivers.
